Ever since James has been able to walk he has had an incredible desire to ride something powered by an engine, whether it be his first Suzuki quad bike at the age of two or his first real motorbike at five. The fact that he would be later doing something in Motorsport was inevitable.
Being able to turn his hand to most sports - a keen rugby player and excellent tennis player, being chosen to play in the tennis teams at his local tennis club and also for his school - James would use his talents and fitness to his full advantage.
James spent a year or so in trails bike riding before one wet Sunday afternoon his dad Lee took James to an indoor kart circuit as a treat for some good work at school. It was there that James showed the potential that could possibly change the lives of both him and his parents.
Before long, parents Julie and Lee invested in a second hand Honda Cadet, an ideal kart to start off in. Then came the Comer two stroke kart, capable of speeds of 55mph, along with the WTP BRM which James still drives today. James then passed his MSA regulated ARKS driving test, which ensures drivers are of an ability to race safely. It wasn't long before James was winning at Tockwith, his local track near York, taking three firsts and a third from his first four races.
"Could James be the next World British F1 driver?"
